Caution: Planking Ahead

PLANKING: or the lying down game is an activity consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. The hands must touch the sides of the body and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the internet is an integral part of the game. Players compete to find the most unusual and original location in which to play. The term planking refers to mimicking a wooden plank.

There were rumors on Facebook that Planking is a Satanic act which is not true since I have researched on the real deal about Planking. As stated above on the meaning, it’s mainly a game for fun.

On a boring Sunday shift, my friends and I had nothing to do then we come up to the idea to try planking. It was really funny and we turned out laughing out loud literally when our friend Yves tried it.

1

I took this shot and I asked our friend Raymond to pretend that he is working while Yves is doing the planking. Haha! It was not that perfect since he needs to keep his body straight in order to achieve the perfect position and he told me that he can’t hold it any longer since his chest was already aching bad. Haha!

2

He tried it on a swivel chair too, there he was able to achieved the perfect position. Haha! It was so much fun and I can’t contain my laughter. I know that a lot of people are trying this thing, I have seen a lot of photos while browsing the net and theirs were so cool.

See how cool their plankings were? Haha! We’ll surely be planning for other locations to try planking though. That’s our version of Call Center Planking 🙂

Inspired finally..

I saw this show on TV when I was about to go to work and I was really fascinated by those kids that were awesome in cooking at an early age. I felt sorry for myself that I don’t even know how to cook though. Well, put the blame on my Mom since I was not allowed in the kitchen when I was at their age. The show’s name is Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition and it was based on MasterChef, featuring Filipino contestants aged 8 to 12.

For the past couple days, I’ve been so inspired to FINALLY start learning how to cook. I have tried to cook home-made pancakes last week but it turned out mashed potatoes. The taste was good but it doesn’t look like pancakes though. My friends told me that maybe, I have added a lot of water in the mixture, that’s why it doesn’t look like one. Then after a couple of days, I tried to cook spaghetti. My husband told me that it tasted good but I know that he only said that so I won’t feel bad. Haha! Then I tried to crisp some bacon the next morning. I’m not exactly sure if it turned out good ’cause I think it was a bit toasted than usual. Haha! Oh my, is it me or I just don’t have the talent? Well, I’ll try and try till I perfect something. I really want to learn how to bake or cook something that I could call my own specialty. 🙂

Movies with the same Plot

Saw No Strings Attached last week which stars Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman and it’s a funny movie.  It’s the usual romantic comedy thingy but the mere fact that it’s Ashton and Natalie, you’ll love it more 🙂

Because of both her belief that no two people were meant to be together forever and the pressures of her job, Emma (Natalie Portman) proposes that they have casual sex with each other before setting some ground rules to prevent their relationship from becoming too serious. At first things go well, but then Adam (Ashton Kutcher) starts becoming jealous of the possibility of Emma being with another doctor, Sam. Although denying that he is jealous, Adam starts presenting her with gifts, which she rebuffs. Things come to a head when Emma starts becoming too uncomfortable about being on a date with Adam. Adam tells Emma that he loves her, but she grows angry, telling him he should go out with another woman who ‘isn’t going to hurt you’. After couple of weeks, Emma, has become distraught at not being with Adam. Emma tries calling Adam, but Adam rebuffs her on the phone. Emma realizes she wants to be with him, and drives down to his home. Adam, however, arrives home with Lucy, whom Emma takes to be Adam’s new girlfriend. Emma tearfully starts driving back to her sister’s wedding. When Adam’s father was in the hospital because of having overdosed on Purple Drank, Adam angrily tells Emma that she needs to have the conversation she wants in person – which she does. Adam and Emma eventually reconcile, and after a morning of eating breakfast, they go together to Emma’s sister’s wedding. So there, happy ending 🙂

The funny thing was when Adam’s ex girlfriend, Vanessa whom turned out to be his father’s new girlfriend, confesses that she doesn’t want to be with an older man and that she’s scared of old people and dumps his father. Haha! The story is a little superficial and predictable but I enjoyed it though.

Official Trailer:

And then I saw this movie the other day, Friends with Benefits which stars my super crush Justin Timberlake and the super hot Mila Kunis. Well, it’s with the same plot as No Strings Attached but this is way sexier and so much funnier.

They became friends when Jamie (Mila Kunis) an Executive Recruiter for a leading job agency has the task of trying to recruit Dylan (Justin Timberlake) to interview for a job with GQ magazine and begin working in New York City. One night while hanging out at Jamie’s apartment watching a romantic comedy they get on the topic of sex and relationships. They come to the conclusion that sex should not come with so many emotional attachments. Both feeling the need for a physical connection they agree to have sex without emotion or commitment involved. After several trysts together Jamie comes to the realization that this isn’t really what she wants, and she would like to start dating again and informs Dylan that they need to stop. Jamie meets Parker and they begin dating. After five dates they consummate their relationship, but the next morning Parker leaves and informs Jamie he really wasn’t looking for anything more. Furious, Jamie tells Parker off, assuring the end of their relationship. Trying to be sympathetic and to help Jamie get over the pain of the situation Dylan suggests she come with him to California over the July 4th weekend while he visits his family. While in California emotional feelings for each other begin to form and they share a passionate kiss, which leads to a night of close intimacy unlike any they had shared before. However, the next day Jamie overhears a conversation between Annie and Dylan indicating he has no real feelings for her. Hurt, she flies back to New York. A few days later Dylan returns to New York trying to reconcile his friendship with Jamie and find out why she has been ignoring him. He finally finds Jamie and she informs him she overheard everything he said and has no interest in maintaining any kind of a friendship with him. Both begin to do some soul-searching trying to come to terms with their feelings about their relationship.  Dylan realizes how he feels about Jamie and after a talk with his friend and coworker, Tommy (Woody Harrelson), decides to go after her. He calls Jamie’s mother to set up an excuse to get Jamie to go to Grand Central Station thinking she will be picking her mom up and arranges to have a flash mob scene set up to surprise Jamie at Grand Central. When the moment comes he catches up with Jamie and tells her how he really feels. Surprised and happy by this turn of events Jamie tells him to kiss her. After sharing a kiss Dylan suggests it is time they go on their first real date. They go to the café across the street, and although they attempt to keep the date casual and relaxed, the film ends with them in a sensual embrace and passionate kiss.

The movie was so funny and Justin Timberlake is hot for real, as Mila Kunis is so beautiful. I also love the twist of the story and how Justin made it up with Mila when he was saying sorry, it was really sweet 🙂 2 thumbs up for the writers because it’s  not like any other romantic comedies that focuses on the 2 main characters of the movie, there is substance in it.  Not to mention that their bed scenes were really smoking hot! Haha! This is my newest favorite movie apart from I so love Justin Timberlake since my highschool days 🙂

There.. obviously, I enjoyed Friends with Benefits more than No Strings attached. Hehe 🙂

Saying Goodbye is the Hardest.

2 years ago, my husband bought these cute little fellows so we can have new “friends” at our house. They’re so cute and the moment I saw them at the pet store, I knew I would love them.  I named them after the four seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn.

Guinea Pigs

Guinea Pigs are also called Cavy. These animals are not in the pig family and do not exist naturally in the wild. They typically live an average of four to five years, but may live as long as eight years. They are harmless so they’re suitable to be pets at home. They doesn’t stink too much and you can actually give them a bath whenever you feel that they’re already smelly but that’s usually once a month.

Guinea Pigs

Guinea pigs that become familiar with their owner will whistle on the owner’s approach; they will also learn to whistle in response to the rustling of plastic bags or the opening of refrigerator doors, where their food is most commonly stored. They make this sound whenever I’m around, it’s like they know me or they’re excited to see me. Specially If I’m carrying a plastic bag or some veggies which they love.

Guinea Pigs

Guinea pigs should be kept in pairs or, preferably groups, unless there is a specific medical condition that requires isolation. Lone guinea pigs are more likely to suffer from stress and depression so I have them in pairs obviously.

Guinea Pigs

Domesticated guinea pigs come in many breeds, which have been developed since their introduction to Europe and North America. These varieties vary in hair and color composition. The most common varieties found in pet stores are the English shorthair (also known as the American), which have a short, smooth coat, and the Abyssinian, whose coat is ruffled with cowlicks, or rosettes. Also popular among breeders are the Peruvian and the Sheltie (or Silkie), both straight longhair breeds, and the Texel, a curly longhair. Summer, Winter and Spring obviously are English shorthairs and Autumn alone is an Abyssinian.

I so love them. They’re like my babies. Sad part was Summer and Autumn died at the same time. I came home from work that day and it was like that they have just waited for me to arrived before passing away.  I cried. So much. It was like I’ve lost my own children. 😦 I’m not exactly sure what happened. If they’re sick or something. I was extremely sad. After a couple of months, Winter died too and I was sad as ever. We just found her dead at their cage and still clueless about the cause of her death. She seems healthy when I last saw her. Then came this gloomy afternoon, it was raining hard then. I just woke up and trying to sleep again when my husband told me that Spring died already. According to him, he was depressed of being along in the cage for so long since I’ve been busy at work and doesn’t have quality time with him anymore. I can’t explained what I’ve felt. It’s like that I’ve been so careless. It was the saddest thing I ever imagined. Until now, I still look at their photos whenever I miss them and surely, I can say that, saying goodbye to my precious ones was never easy 😦

A day at the Kingdom..

The whole family had a blast at Enchanted Kingdom. T’was so much fun. Well, to any of you who is not familiar what Enchanted Kingdom is.. It’s like a mini Disneyland that’s located in Sta Rosa City, Laguna in the Philippines. The park was conceptualized by the Landmark Entertainment Group and modeled after Knott’s Berry Farm. So, same thing, rides and all. I took a lot of photos of the trip 🙂

Upon entering the theme park, the Enchanted Kingdom’s mascot named Eldar will be among the ones welcoming you. He’ll welcome you with open arms literally. Haha! The kid in me was very excited when I saw him. 🙂

The first beautiful thing that would greet you when you enter the theme park would be the Grand Carousel. It’s huge and magnificent. It was in the middle of this pool with water fountains. There were park crews who were taking pictures of their guests in front of it for the theme park’s album. See, we were able to posed for it. The Grand Carousel is in Victoria Park (The theme park is divided into certain zones), The Victoria Park is inspired by the era of Queen Victoria’s rule and displays it in elegance. Entertainers leisurely stroll around the park dressed in costumes inspired by Queen Victoria’s era.

The EKstreme.  My siblings, cousins and my Husband definitely enjoyed the ride but Me. Never tried it though. See my hand over there? I was just there taking photos and cheering for them. Haha! The looks of it gave me goosebumps and I was really thinking that I would die on the spot if I tried it. No regrets on my part though. It was really scary! If you want to see the video I took, click here 🙂

Stone Eggs – Kiddie Ferris Wheel at the Boulderville. Those were cute Stone Eggs 🙂 It’s a kiddie ride but I think they can’t ride this without a grown up and it’s located in Boulderville, this zone has a prehistoric theme with dinosaurs as main characters. This is mainly for kids, puppet shows and dinosaur mascots will entertain you in this zone.

The Flying Fiesta. This is my favorite! It was so much fun. It feels like that you can touch the trees with your toes when it swings. Haha! It’s a different high 🙂 It’s located at the Portabello Zone,  it’s a replica of Portabello, a place in Panama in the Caribbean Sea where the riches of the Incas were shipped by the Spaniards. It features treasures hidden by the Spanish sailors.

The Flying Fiesta

Ready for take off 🙂

The Flying Fiesta

The Rio Grande Rapids. This is one hell of a ride! Haha! It’s the Philippines’ version of the Grand Canyon Rapids in Hongkong Disneyland. You will board a rapid with large cylinder tubes underneath the water. After travelling a safe distance, the raft will enter more turbulent waters. Along with the rapids, there are often waterfalls and I was the lucky one that was beat up by a large waterfall so I was soaking wet after the ride. Haha!

The Space Shuttle. This is another ride that I have skipped. It let you experience an upside down turn six times. I rode this one once before and I swear that I’ll not, ever in my entire life, be riding this one again. It’s traumatic on my part. Haha! That’s how scared I was. This is located at the Spaceport Zone, inspired by sci-fi films and the NASA space program of the 1960s. This is the first coaster ride of its kind in the Philippines.

The Wheel of Fate. This is located at the Midway Boardwalk, it’s a colorful and carefree zone inspired by Coney Island, known as “America’s Playground” in the 1930s. Other attractions that you are sure to enjoy are the performances of mime artists, jugglers, and clowns. Was not able to experience this one because of so many people piling up for it. Too bad!

Wheel of Fate

The Jungle Log Jam. This is located at the Jungle Outpost, it offers a jungle adventure. It was designed after the Amazon jungle.  On this, you will be boarding onto a log like ride, the ride culminates with a rapid descent and splashes down into a body of water so in short, be ready to be in a wet adventure. Haha! Certain seating sections usually being splashed with more water for a more exciting and wet ride.

Let’s be wet. C’mon! 🙂

The Anchors Away.  I enjoyed this, though I’m like a scared cat again. I almost throw up and I was hiding my face, as if I’ll fall face down whenever it reaches its highest point. This ride is at the Midway Boardwalk too 🙂

The Walk to Rialto

The Rialto. The first two pictures were the streets  from the Brooklyn Place, it’s a theater and shopping zone designed after 1940s Brooklyn, New York where slapstick comedies and silent movies are reminisced. It is also where you can experience The Rialto. It’s a simulator ride where you will be seating on a theater, watching a scene from a movie and your chair will move as if you’re in the movie. Hehe! Happy Feet was showing that time. It was a mind shaking experience. 🙂

The Parade

I enjoyed the parade so much but it could have been better if I was able to take some photos with the characters right? But there was a rope that separated the crowd from the performers. I was just lucky enough to have the front row 🙂

An Interview with a Pirate 🙂

With the Pirate

Hey, I took this shot. Perfect isn’t it? Haha! I wished I was included though but nobody can take it I like did unfortunately so I ended up laughing at their faces instead 🙂

Hiyaaa!

They held a mini concert when dusk came, this was organized at the Spacefort Zone. I’m resting my way beyond tired feet when I noticed this. I was so tired from all the rides and stuff. They had 3 bands as performers that night, the Bloomfields, Tanya Markova and Urbandub. I was able to watched the first 2 because it was nearly time to go home when it’s Urbandub’s turn finally. Lame! So we ended up watching the fireworks instead. I took some videos of the fireworks but the quality were not so good since the crowd’s gone crazy and there’s all this pushing and all. Anyway, if you want to watch it. Click the following links 🙂 Part1 and Part2

Pottermore Fever..

Im so disappointed not making it up for the Early Registration for Pottermore. I was not aware that there’s this website made specially for Harry Potter fanatics and it’s actually from J.K. Rowling. It’ll be open to the public on October. Would you imagine that? October? That’s a month and a half from now. For any of you who’s not familiar with the website. It’s a website where you can discover a whole lot of things from the books and the author herself. As far as I have read, everyone will be sorted out into houses like freshmen and will be competing with other houses like that of Hogwarts. That’s what I’m excited about 🙂 There would be mini games too, like you can brew potions and stuff. There would also be an online shop where you can buy Harry Potter books, DVDs etc. They held an early registration to a selected group of users which I’m not exactly sure when that started. Some of my friends was able to register and submitted their email address. According to the site, if you are able to register, you will be receiving an email from the site where you can confirm your registration. Well, most of them are still waiting for their responses.

As for the Early Registration, they have hid a hidden link on the first blog that they’ve posted which will lead you to a search for the Magical Quill. They had given clues from July 31 to August 6 (Ooh. They started July 31st! Lame!) on the Pottermore Homepage to help you locate it. As per the instructions, to find The Magical Quill, you need to solve the clue and add the answer to the end of the web address http://quill.pottermore.com/ This will lead you to a website where The Magical Quill will be located while early access places are available. The Magical Quill’s location will change every day. However, everyone will be able to register to find out if they are magical, for entry to the site in October 2011. If you find it, you’ll have the chance to gain early access to Pottermore which I failed to do since I’m out there doing other things and let this exciting opportunity past my way. Arghhh..

They have organized a presentation at LeakyCon 2011 in Orlando, Florida where they’ve showcase the completed areas of Pottermore and also behind the scenes. I really wish I was there and was part of it. It looks fun 🙂 [Image of Pottermore presentation at LeakyCon courtesy of Cheri Root photography for LeakyCon 2011.]

Well, this is what I got when I visited the website. So I think I really need to wait for October so I can register and enjoy the site. I’ll be just checking their website from time to time. Maybe there would be an Early Registration again. Sad 😦

Here’s J.K.Rowling’s exclusive announcement 🙂

From Subic with L ♥ V E

This is a super late update regarding summer since it’s the rainy days already but I just wanted to share my summer getaway last February (See? Super late ei :))

February 27, 2011 : Baloy, Subic Zambales

SUMMER!!! Destination : THE BEACH. Off from work and away from the City’s polluted environment and say hello to the summer breeze of Subic. Yeah! Beach baby! Apart from the fact that I spent 2 years of my life there way back grade school, there is this feeling of comfort whenever the idea of going to Subic gets in me.

My Granny’s from my Mom’s side was originally from Olongapo City so when my Mom traveled in the Middle East, I was lucky to be picked to stay with them. I was in 3rd grade then. I so love the beach because I always wanted to be a mermaid. Haha! Silly me. I always wonder what it’s like to live under the sea and it really fascinates me if mermaids really exists. If they do, I wanna see one 🙂

Here are some photos of my trip..

Me + Mint. Taking pictures while on our way. Hehe 🙂 This was his first trip to our family house in Subic. He was very excited to meet the rest of the family.

The houses in the Quarry. These were the houses that I’ve seen in Pampanga on our way to the town proper. This place was once deserted because of the lahar from the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo way back then. I’m glad that they’ve converted the place into a housing ground since most of the Aetas and residents there lost their houses before.

The Public Market of Olongapo City in Bajac Bajac. Olongapo city is famous for their motto such as “Bawal ang Tamad sa Olongapo” and “Aim High Olongapo”. I was so lucky to have a shot at this since we are on a very fast moving vehicle and when I say fast, I mean really fast. Haha!

The entrance of Baloy Resort. The beach scenery is so relaxing, complete with cottages, coconut trees and fine sand. This perfect view will make you say, “This is the Life” 🙂

The breathtaking sunset! It’s a bit cloudy though but the sunset is still incredible. 🙂

The Floating Restaurant in Baloy Resort. I can’t take a good shot of the Restaurant since I only have my phone for taking pictures and the fact that it’s almost at the middle of the beach so I tried my best to have the best shot and here it is with a boat that’s merely hiding it. LAME! Getting on the Restaurant is a sweat for their crews because customers needs to ride a raft. A rope connects the raft from the restaurant to the shore and the crews needs to pull it all the way through the restaurant. Oh my that’s tiring! Specially if there are a lot of customers on the raft, I think it’s safe as it appears though.

Mima + Jayar + Me + Cayse. Enjoying the view from afar 🙂  I love this photo. The view was almost perfect minus the peeps swimming from the distance. Haha!

There.. My summer adventure. I love Subic so much, it has a special place in my heart. I always wanted to go back specially when I want to be alone and think things over. The calm atmosphere of the place gives me peace of mind. I hope it’s gonna be summer again soon 🙂

Ice Cream Monsterrr..

Ooohh.. My weakness.. I scream.. ICE CREAM!!! Haha! Ice cream to me is not just a comfort food. It’s LOVE! Haha! I’ve always love it from my toddler days (Of course Mom wont let me eat icecream as early as 1 month old. Haha!) I’m a sucker for sweets, maybe that’s why but for some reasons I don’t want my icecream on a cone. I was brainwashed by the rumor that the tip of an icecream cone was made of boogers. That was an old rumor way back then but just to be safe, I don’t like it. Haha! 🙂

According to Wiki as quote “The meaning of the term “ice cream” varies from one country to another. Terms such as “frozen custard“, “frozen yogurt“, “sorbet“, “gelato” and others are used to distinguish different varieties and styles.” There are many varieties all over the world and seriously all of them is to die for 🙂

 Gelato in Rome, Italy

Mochi ice cream sold in Japan

Kulfi or Qulfi from India

Ais krim potong from Singapore/Malaysia

Bouzat Haleeb from Arabic countries

Fried Ice Cream from Mexican countries

Japanese green tea ice cream with anko sauce

My favorite flavor is Double Dutch from Selecta. Marshmallows, cashews, chocolate chips swirled in velvety vanilla ice cream rippled with rich chocolate fudge with just the right sweetness. Delight in the contrast of sensations — the creaminess of milk, the chewiness of mallows with the crunch of perfectly roasted nuts. A truly delectable ice cream masterpiece made just for me. Haha 🙂

My New Indulgence ♥

The new Selecta Hershey’s Ice Cream Collection comes in four different flavors. It includes Hershey’s Milk Chocolate, Milk Chocolate with Almonds, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and Hershey’s Kisses. I tasted 3 of them but the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups ’cause I really don’t like the taste of Peanut Butter. I want to for the sake of trying them all but I’m still thinking about it. Haha! I super love the Milk Chocolate with Almonds, specially it’s crunchy texture. Try them for youself 🙂

The Smurfs ♥

Wuaaa. The cutest movie ever 🙂 Starring Neil Patrick Harris as Patrick Winslow and Jayma Mays as his wife Grace Winslow. I love everything about this movie specially the part where they’re singing along with Neil Patrick Harris playing the Guitar Hero game. Super cute! I recommend this movie to all ages. After I have watched it, I was hooked about the smurf language. The Smurfs replace enough nouns and verbs in everyday speech with “smurf” as to make their conversations barely understandable: “We’re going smurfing on the River Smurf today.” SMURFtastic! Hahaha!

Patrick:“Stop saying ‘smurf’ for everything. Smurfity smurf smurf smurf!”(Smurfs collectively gasp) Gutsy Smurf: “There’s NO call for that kind of language, laddy!”

Another funny part was when the Smurfs are in awe of Google. That’s when Patrick opens a package from Belgium and finds the Smurfs inside. They take off – only to be chased by Patrick’s dog, Elway. Eventually they subdue a panicked Patrick, who warns his beloved that they may be adorable, but they are scary! (Scary? He’ll learn.)

Patrick: “Okay, to review: You guys come from a magic forest where you live in oversized mushrooms.”
Papa Smurf: “Yes.”
Patrick: “You’re being chased by an evil wizard.”
Papa Smurf: “Yea.”
Patrick: “And you’re trapped in New York until there’s a blue moon.”
Papa Smurf: “Very good.”
Patrick: “And you like to use the extremely imprecise term ‘Smurf’ for just about everything.”
Brainy Smurf: “Smurf-xactly!”
Patrick: “And you’re all named after your personalities? Do you get your names when you’re born or after you’ve exhibited certain traits?”
Brainy Smurf: “Whoa, just what is this magic searching device?”
Patrick: “Right now I’m using Google.”
All Smurfs: (in unison) “Oooooh…Google…”

I learned that Katy Perry was the voice actress of the only girl in Smurf village, Smurfette. She was chosen by the film makers before auditioning for the role. According to her, they had done a blind test where they took certain voices from previous interviews and matched them with the character. They liked her voice without even knowing who it was. Brilliant right? 🙂

Hank Azaria, the actor who played as Gargamel, who is the arch-nemesis and the one who plots for extracting Smurf essence so he can be the most powerful wizard was so convincing. To be  perfect for the  role, he wore a prosthetic nose, ears, buck teeth, eyebrows and a wig so he can have this resemblance with the comic character. Very nice 🙂 and his Cat, the talking cat. Haha! I love it when his cat was way too brainy than him and it’s so hilarious when he laughs.

The story was very light, the same old good versus evil kinda thing. The movie will bring out the kid in every heart. You know, when you’re so suffocated about grown up stuff. This movie will take you out on a new adventure. As for most movies, of course there’s this “moral of the story” part, that nobody gets left behind and the essence of being a good father, I believe . 🙂

Here’s the list of the characters from Smurf Village

(Thanks to Google. Haha!)

Papa Smurf is the leader of the community. Other Smurfs are generally named after their personality disposition, for example, Brainy, Greedy, Vanity, Lazy, Clumsy, Hefty, Jokey, Dreamy, Grouchy, or their profession, for example, Poet, Actor, Handy, Harmony, Farmer, Clockwork, Painter, Tailor, Miner, Architect, Reporter, Timber, Barber and Doctor Smurf. Other Smurf characters include Gutsy Smurf, Grandma Smurf, Grandpa Smurf, and Smurfette. Smurfette was created by Gargamel to lure the other smurfs. Papa Smurf then changed her into what we see today.

and the Official Trailer 🙂

The Rise of The Planet of the Apes

Hmmm.. I saw this movie the other night. Touching story. I thought that I would be bored to death ’cause I was under the impression that it would be  a sequel of the movie Planet of the Apes but it’s totally different. It’s not a remake or anything and it’s not definitely a part of a series.

The movie started when there were men hunting apes for their laboratory experiment which was led by Will Rodman who was played by James Franco, (Yes, Spiderman’s bestfriend) who’s a scientist in search for a cure for his father’s illness, Alzheimer’s disease. Apparently, the lab experiment turned the apes into super genius, giving them a human level of intelligence. One of the chimpanzees, named Bright Eyes, that was captured secretly gave birth and goes on rampage thinking that they took away her baby. She was shot and died. Steven Jacobs who was played by David Oyelowo, Will’s boss was so disappointed regarding the incident and orders his subordinates to kill all the Chimpanzees and pulled out the experiment. Will’s friend can’t bring himself to kill the baby so he let him keep it, he named him Caesar played by Andy Serkis (He also played the Gollum, Sméagol in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy). He inherited her mother’s intelligence. The effects were so good that you wont realize Caesar is not a real ape. Will gave his father a sample for the cure of his illness, it worked at first but eventually his father’s immune system fights off the virus and he died. Caesar was put on a primate facility when he attacked a neighbor as he is threatening Charles, Will’s father. On the facility, apes are treated cruelly by Dodge played by Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter) who works as a guard. He was killed by Caesar on their way to escape the facility. Caesar managed to steal an airborne strain of the new virus and releases it throughout the cage area, enhancing the intelligence of his fellow apes. They have escaped the facility and brought chaos to the city heading to Muir Woods National Monument forest.

The story was superficial, I know but there is something about it that would touch your heart. I love how the actors performed and how the movie was directed. Also the effects specially the chaos at the Golden Gate bridge when police officers tried to stop them. I’m so touched about the story that I even dreamt about it, only in my dreams it was scary. Haha! Silly me. Well, we do have different views of anything so watch it and tell me if we do have the same 🙂
