Part of my World

I love the movie The Little Mermaid since I was a kid! I still have that frustration of becoming a mermaid when I grow up [That is if I’ll still grow up. LOL] No, seriously.. I adore the sea and every creature in it. I feel so calm whenever I’m near the ocean. It feels like that there is a connection between me and the sea. Maybe I’m a mermaid in my past life. Don’t you think? Ü

Aside from JeansBeans, there is another exceptional account that I love on Tumblr. It’s TheDisneyPrincess! Beside the point that her blogs are all about Disney movies that I super love, she has this gallery that’s all about The Little Mermaid and every photos were beautifully edited. I’m not quite sure where she got those photos but  they’re so nice.

Here’s some of them..

I browsed her collection and made the story line out of it. Nice right? I love the first movie more though because I think the second with her daughter Melody was quite an overkill. I never get too old for this. Hehe! This is definitely gonna be one of my favorite posts.

Part of Your World

ARIEL
(Maybe he’s right. Maybe there is something the matter with me.
I just don’t see how a world that makes such wonderful things could be bad.)

Look at this stuff
Isn’t it neat?
Wouldn’t you think my collection’s complete?
Wouldn’t you think I’m the girl
The girl who has everything?
Look at this trove
Treasures untold
How many wonders can one cavern hold?
Looking around here you think
Sure, she’s got everything
I’ve got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty
I’ve got whozits and whatzits galore
You want thingamabobs?
I’ve got twenty!
But who cares?
No big deal
I want more

I wanna be where the people are
I wanna see, wanna see them dancin’
Walking around on those – what do you call ‘em?
Oh – feet!

Flippin’ your fins, you don’t get too far
Legs are required for jumping, dancing
Strolling along down a – what’s that word again?
Street

Up where they walk, up where they run
Up where they stay all day in the sun
Wanderin’ free – wish I could be
Part of that world

What would I give if I could live out of these waters?
What would I pay to spend a day warm on the sand?
Bet’cha on land they understand
That they don’t reprimand their daughters
Proper women sick of swimmin’
Ready to stand

And ready to know what the people know
Ask ‘em my questions and get some answers
What’s a fire and why does it – what’s the word?
Burn?

When’s it my turn?
Wouldn’t I love, love to explore that world up above?
Out of the sea
Wish I could be
Part of that world

My Favorite Account in Tumblr ♥

I have a Tumblr account but it has been a year I think when I last updated it since I think it’s a lot like high school stuff unlike having a blog page from WordPress of course! [Can I be on Freshly Pressed? Just pushing my luck! LOL]. I was so bored when I stumbled upon my own account in Tumblr and decided to browse it way from my oldest posts. Well, there were posts that I can’t even recall that I have posted them. Haha! I normally look for photos via google and edit them with my favorite quotes of all time [It will be on a separate post Ü] but I have this specific Tumblr account which was my favorite of all Tumbleristas that I have come across.. JEANSBEANS ♥

Here are some of her photos that’s on my favorite list Ü

Her doodles are awesome! I believe she’s the one who’s doing it. I’m a frustrated artist too. I used to sketch stuff but being busy at work hindered me from pursuing it. JeansBeans really is my favorite Tumblr account. You might wanna check out her blog too. It’s just sooo cute ♥

Love + Stupidity = Trouble

I am not okay. I feel so horrible it hurts to smile. Dejavu. Yes. I can’t believe that it happened again. I thought everything was sailing smoothly then it happened.. Again. I never learned. I have never learned. God.. I can’t breathe. I want to runaway. Runaway from all these but I know for a fact that it wont go away if I’ll do that. It wont change a thing. I know it will still hunt me. I thought I have fixed it.. I thought we’re okay now. I thought he values our relationship more now after everything that we’ve been through. Yeah. I thought. I just thought. I’m tired. Tired of all these. Tired of repeating the same mistake over and over again. I can’t blame anybody for this but myself. I chose to stay. I chose to fixed things. What can I do? I love him. I just don’t know when will I ever learn or when will he realize that all he does is bullshit. Hoping that he’ll realize all of this the soonest. When it’s never too late for us to fix things. When I still love him..

My 1st Tinola Ü

Yehaaaa! After my 1st successful Pork Sinigang, I was so inspired to try new dishes and here’s my second masterpiece. Tinola indeed. Same thing, I have searched Google for the recipe and how to of this Filipino dish. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you’ll notice that I just recently had this urge to learn how to cook and of course I’ve started with famous dishes from our country.

This is the simple recipe I got from PinoyMix

Chicken Tinola

Ingredients

  • 1 kilo whole chicken (cut into parts or choice cuts of breast, thighs of wings).
  • 2 1/2 cups young papaya or sayote
  • 1/2 cup dahon ng sili
  • 5 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons ginger (roughly chopped)
  • 1/2 head garlic (minced)
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons patis
  • pinch of salt and pepper

Procedure

  1. In a casserole, heat oil and saute’ garlic, onion and ginger.
  2. Add the chicken and water.
  3. Bring to a boil and lower fire, let simmer until chicken is cooked.
  4. Pour in patis, salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Add in papaya or sayote, allow to cook.
  6. When ready to serve, put in dahon ng sili.
  7. Serve hot.

I’m so proud of this dish that I have cooked for it was a success. Tasted good for an amateur like me. I’m not saying it tasted good because I cooked it.. Haha!  ‘Cause I’d let my Hubby do the tasting and also one of our housemates so I’m pretty sure that I did great! More recipes to come for me. Cheers!

Tiles, Filters and Me

I was so bored last night that I thought of editing some of my photos for fun. I envy those people who has the Instagram application though since  I can’t have it downloaded. I only have a smart phone and it’s neither an iPhone nor an Android so I edit my photos manually. Before, I have had my photos edited through Picnik.com but the website was closed I think mid April. They have moved their application on Google+ which I think is boring so I rarely use it. Then I found a photo editor site which is more interesting that Picnik. Picmonkey it is Ü You don’t need to register to use the site and it’s very user-friendly unlike some photo editor sites that would need a lot of thinking before you can edit photos. The website’s still free as of this time. At this time indeed because  I think some of the cute options and filters will be paid features soon.

I have filters on my phone as well but I want my photos to be somehow Instagramified and Picmonkey has some filters and options that will have your photos like it was edited from the famous app. Here’s some of my photos edited from the site Ü

I have already learned how to play around with all the filters for the photos to look even better like mixing up the filters and the options. The tiles were not from the site though. Nice right? Look it up and then try it for yourself. Enjoy editing while the cool features are still free to use. Go.. Instagramified your photos Ü

Old Friends Over Dessert ♥

I was extremely excited when finally we had set up a get together with my old but not forgotten friends. We have not seen each other for 2 years now.. I so missed them since we used to spend a lot of time together like we were inseparable. Too bad Crista, Jez and Jaren didn’t make it though.

We were supposed to meet up for dinner but I had to wait for my Dad so we were a little late, we had it over dessert. Ü

Dairy Queen indeed Ü

Mie Cheng + Me + Mint + Oleng

Oleng playing with the camera while having us in the background.

PS. We look crazily in love and stupid. LOL!

Can’t fixed the red eyes. Nice contact lenses Bhey Ü

♥ Mie Cheng + Oleng ♥

It was so bitin though since Mie Cheng can’t stay late. Anyway, we were planning to see each other by next week and hopefully the rest of the “Babois” will make it so we can have quality time like we used to.

My First Ever Pork Sinigang Ü

I know this is long overdue but I just felt the need to blogged about this since I would consider it as one of my achievements. After I have failed to perfect a pancake not long ago, I came back with a humongous confidence that I’m gonna make it this time. For a woman my age who doesn’t know how to cook, I have all the rights to brag about this right? Haha!

Since we recently had this cute miniature kalan at home, I’ve come up to this idea of cooking something way out of usual. Usual meaning to say.. Frying hotdogs, frying eggs, frying bacon or just merely frying anything.

Pork Sinigang it is! My personal favorite and Hubby too. It is a traditional Filipino dish that’s mainly tamarind based so it is sour in nature. Oldies use fruits to have that sour taste on it but it was replaced by powdered soup based or bouillon cubes nowadays. Vinegar is not being use to make the soup sour though for it would be a different dish already. The dish usually has veggies such as kangkong (river spinach), horse radishes, string beans and gabi (taro) but since I am not really into these veggies.. I decided just to put Kangkong so it would look like a Sinigang for the record. Others put shrimp, fish and beef on it and I think shrimp and pork would be the best because Beef Sinigang would be greasy and I don’t want my fish wet.. If you know what I meant by that! Haha!

Pork Sinigang

Shrimp Sinigang

Fish Sinigang

Beef Sinigang

Everything was perfect.. I may say.. but.. there is one thing odd about it.. I put potatoes which was supposed to be for a dish called Nilaga and that’s a totally different thing. Hahaha! Well at least, I’ve learned my lessons not to mixed up recipes now. Too bad I was not able to take pictures of my masterpiece though. I’ll keep my blog updated on new dishes that I would learn how to cook so keep hanging there Ü

Being so Girlie this Summer

I love to be on dresses this summer! Those summer dresses that would bring out the extra girl in me. LOL! I grew up with boys so I haven’t really tried to check out some dresses for I am usually in regular tees and jeans. Before, wearing those made me think that my Kuyas will burst into laughter and I’ll end up not wearing girly stuff at all but things are a little different now. Ü

I stumbled upon these summer dresses on Google and these made me think that wearing some would be a great idea specially with this scorching summer heat. I love to be on floral and hassle-free dresses though. Those pieces that I can go anywhere with. From malls to shores basically.

These are my picks for this season. Simple, comfy and cute! I love those v neck designs and I believe those are knee-length too so perfect for ladies on the go like yours truly. Tell me what you think or if you have suggestions as well. Ü
