Book Recommendation: The Infernal Devices

Do I still need to say why I’m recommending this? Okay. For the sake of those people who haven’t read this masterpiece. Yeah. You need to read it. NEED is such a strong word, but you’ll eventually say “WANT” when you’ve started reading the series. Really want would be an understatement once you’ve started. I kid you not. 😉

The Infernal Devices

In a time when Shadowhunters are barely winning the fight against the forces of darkness, one battle will change the course of history forever. Welcome to the Infernal Devices trilogy, a stunning and dangerous prequel to the New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments series.

The year is 1878. Tessa Gray descends into London’s dark supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers that her only allies are the demon-slaying Shadowhunters—including Will and Jem, the mysterious boys she is attracted to. Soon they find themselves up against the Pandemonium Club, a secret organization of vampires, demons, warlocks, and humans. Equipped with a magical army of unstoppable clockwork creatures, the Club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them….

I really love everything about it. I’ve stumbled upon it when I was in the middle of reading the Mortal Instruments and knowing me to read books at a time, I did. I didn’t regret it though and I’m planning to reread it sometime soon.

I’m so awestruck by this in every page. The writing and the characters are so remarkable. There are so many twists that so unpredictable, you need to brace yourself to be astound and be broken at the same time. I can say that I love Will more than I love Jace. Of course it’s just me, but Will is just so sweet and good-natured. So loving it made him so broken. I so love him. Have I used SO too much? Ha! Ha! I’ve read a couple of reviews and some of them confirmed that they love this series more than the Mortal Instruments so that’s something.

I can’t really recall when exactly I’ve read this. I think it’s so long ago, but whenever I laid my eyes on its cover, I can still vividly feel the awesome reading experience. It’s so crisp, it’s luring me to reread them. I might as well take the bait, but I’m really overwhelm from all the books I have lined up to read so I think it would take time. Anyway, it’s really worth the read so you might want to try it.
