Goodreads

“Jason hate being old. His joints hurt. His legs shook. As he tried to climb the hill, his lungs rattled like a box of rocks. He couldn’t see his face, thank goodness, but his fingers were gnarled and bony. Bulging blue veins webbed the backs of his hands.
He even had that old man smell — mothballs and chicken soup. How was that possible?
He’d gone from sixteen to seventy-five in a matter of seconds, but the old man smell happened instantly, like BOOM! Congratulations! You stink!”

Line

Yeah. I know. This is not nearly “First sentence (or so)”. First paragraph, perhaps. I couldn’t help it. If I could just copy the whole book here. Why not? LOL. Anyway, initial thoughts. Hmm.. When I’ve read this, I immediately felt worried about Jason and really thinking “What on Earth Mother happened to him?”. I assumed that some pissed God cursed him and they’ll need to figure out how they can change him back or if ever there’s a way for him to. I also couldn’t help grinning for the sarcasm on this is really funny. They never failed to amuse me. That’s basically why I love the series. It’s so hilarious in so many levels and really one that won’t, ever, get you jaded.

I so love this series and the fact that this is the last book on this makes me really sad. This will always be a favorite of mine and I will definitely find time to reread everything. ♥

Here’s the blurb:

“Though the Greek and Roman crew members of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen—all of them—and they’re stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood—the blood of Olympus—in order to wake. The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it “might” be able to stop a war between the two camps.
The Athena Parthenos will go west; the Argo II will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea’s army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over.”
