Cara and Aelyx only have one day to spend together before he returns to earth and she travels to Aelyx’s home planet, L’eihr. Homesick and worried about the upcoming year apart, Cara is desperate to make these final hours count. Worst of all, Cara is missing Christmas, stuck on board an alien spaceship. When Aelyx learns that Cara is forgoing her favorite holiday, he tries to recreate Christmas in space by researching traditional earth customs…but a few things get lost in translation.
This book is released for free. How freaking cool is that? Yay! 😀 Literally short, but sweet and cute and my review is so long overdue. Lol! I love this book that I can’t wait to have Invaded more after reading it. Until Midnight is funny and heartbreaking at the same time. Since they’re fully aware that their time together is very limited, they’re trying to spend quality time as much as possible. That’s the total gist. I so loved Aelyx because of his efforts to bring Christmas wherever they are since Cara was feeling homesick already. The efforts man! So sweet. My kind of guy. Lol! Cara is so lucky to have him. Though it turned out not what he had planned, they still had fun together. Aelyx! Oh Aelyx! I was grinning the entire time I’m reading the book because of him. He’s so freaking adorable.
I also love the fact that the book is not all about Cara and Aelyx swooning over each other considering how short the book is. It could have been annoying so I’m glad. The only thing that bothered me is the obvious love triangle and how I hate love triangles. It will not probably continue to the sequel since Cara and Aelyx would be far from each other, but I’ll expect it anyway. I’m just hoping that it will be written well so it won’t border to maddening. The book also presented glimpses of Aelyx’s complicated relationship with Syrine due to what happened on Alienated and also Cara’s jealousy (Another potential love triangle perhaps? Sigh.). Cara’s brother on the other hand is your usual bossy older sibling. I love him though and I’m so looking forward to reading more about who’s he’s lucky girl.
Though this is a short story from the Alienated series, readers can also read this as stand alone. Something sweet that will make you read the entire series so yes, really recommending this to readers who wants something cute. 😉
