The Fates are cackling their bony asses off…
It’s been a year since Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so far, the jobs they’ve given him have been violent and bloody–which is kind of all right with him. But now Apollo has something else in mind for Seth. He’s got to play protector while keeping his hands and fingers off, and for someone who really has a problem with restraint, this new assignment might be the most challenging yet. Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy’s deal might be, but it’s a good bet that his arrival means the new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-sized blender turned up to puree. Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of ancient myth is gunning for her.
But it might be the unlikely attraction simmering between her and the golden-eyed, secret-keeping Seth that may prove to be the most dangerous thing of all.
Because history has once again been flipped to repeat.

Book Cover Reveal: The Wicked Will Rise (Dorothy Must Die #2)

This is perhaps a little late, but for the benefit of all readers who have not had a glimpse of the book cover of Dorothy Must Die’s second book. Here it is. I believe this was revealed the 21st of August 2014 by USA Today. The article also has an interview with the author, Danielle Page.

The Wicked Will Rise

In this dark, high-octane sequel to the New York Times bestselling Dorothy Must Die, Amy Gumm must do everything in her power to kill Dorothy and free Oz.

To make Oz a free land again, Amy Gumm was given a mission: remove the Tin Woodman’s heart, steal the Scarecrow’s brain, take the Lion’s courage, and then Dorothy must die…

But Dorothy still lives. Now the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked has vanished, and mysterious Princess Ozma might be Amy’s only ally. As Amy learns the truth about her mission, she realizes that she’s only just scratched the surface of Oz’s past—and that Kansas, the home she couldn’t wait to leave behind, may also be in danger. In a place where the line between good and evil shifts with just a strong gust of wind, who can Amy trust—and who is really Wicked?

The cover is so perfect for the book’s summary. That’s one intriguing sequel, I may say. Dark and mystifying and the title? Thrilling! I’m so excited about this! Here’s what Danielle Page has to say about the book cover. This is from the interview:

“I’m totally in love with this cover. It’s so creepy and mysterious, but a little bit funny, too, which is just the way I see these books.”

Book Review: Unhinged (Splintered #2)

Alyssa Gardner has been down the rabbit hole and faced the bandersnatch. She saved the life of Jeb, the guy she loves, and escaped the machinations of the disturbingly seductive Morpheus and the vindictive Queen Red. Now all she has to do is graduate high school and make it through prom so she can attend the prestigious art school in London she’s always dreamed of.

That would be easier without her mother, freshly released from an asylum, acting overly protective and suspicious. And it would be much simpler if the mysterious Morpheus didn’t show up for school one day to tempt her with another dangerous quest in the dark, challenging Wonderland—where she (partly) belongs.

As prom and graduation creep closer, Alyssa juggles Morpheus’s unsettling presence in her real world with trying to tell Jeb the truth about a past he’s forgotten. Glimpses of Wonderland start to bleed through her art and into her world in very disturbing ways, and Morpheus warns that Queen Red won’t be far behind.

If Alyssa stays in the human realm, she could endanger Jeb, her parents, and everyone she loves. But if she steps through the rabbit hole again, she’ll face a deadly battle that could cost more than just her head.

If you have read my review for Splintered, you probably knew the reason that I continued reading this series. Don’t get me wrong, I like the series. I just couldn’t bring myself to actually love it. As in really love it. I’m not pretty sure why. I absorbed this a bit better than the first book though. Perhaps because I already had an idea of what was going on unlike when I first read it.

The book cover is beautiful, it’s Morpheus and it kinda freak me out because it is exactly how I imagined him to look like. I still hate him. Ha ha! The world building on this one didn’t disappoint. It’s still magical, graphic and wonderful. Yet, I’m not sure about the plot. The book got me hooked on the first five or six chapters, a chapter on the middle part and some parts from the last couple of chapters I believe, the rest is Alyssa being so confused and it got me annoyed. I really think that most of the plot included Alyssa being torn. Not so certain if she was really torn in staying in the human realm and being queen in wonderland or torn between Jeb and Morpheus. Honestly, I hate the love triangle. I also hate that it feels like the story revolved around it. Mostly. Like it overshadowed the real deal. It overshadowed the fact that they need to defeat Red for the sake of both worlds. Now I fully grasped why reviews indicated that it has “No Plot” at all. It’s because of this. This love triangle. Sigh.

Book Cover Update: The Blood of Olympus

I have recently learned that the UK cover for The Blood of Olympus is revealed by Uncle Rick dated the 26th of June 2014 and it’s so awesome. He also confirmed that he posted it because he actually like it. That’s good, knowing that the UK covers are not really his favorite.

It’s pretty amazing. How everyone has grown up on the cover. Finally, got a glimpse of what Mother Gaea looks like. Really getting so excited for this book to be released. Still a long wait until October though. Anyway, I’m torn in deciding which one is my favorite. Maybe you could help me with that. You can cast your vote on the cover you like best. Here are the covers for your reference:

Waiting on Wednesday #5

I’m not certain if I’ll be glad about this or what. Pretty torn. I must admit, I’m a little disappointed when I heard the news. The anticipation is killing me and then this happened. This week’s WOW feature would be a new book from my favorite, Marissa Meyer.

Mirror, mirror on the wall,

Who is the fairest of them all?

Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story – a story that has never been told . . . until now.

+++

I’m not being bipolar and stuff, but I’m so thrilled when Marissa introduced her new masterpiece. Dated June 16, she posted a blog announcing the news. She will be having this full-length novel about the wicked tyrant of the Lunar Chronicles coming in January next year. The 27th of January 2015 to be exact. If you are wondering who she is, you must be living under a rock, sipping your pink lemonade and staring to nothingness. That could have been dull.

According to Marissa, Fairest will be delving into the back story of Queen Levana. It will start when she’s 15 years old and will cover about 10 years of her life, it will end about a decade before Cinder. They also confirmed that it will also feature the early version of Cinder and Winter as little children and a back story of the scientist, Dr. Erland.

Waiting on Wednesday aka Tarrying Thursday #3

I’ve missed it yesterday. Again. I’ve been quite busy. I would do it today anyway, on a Thursday so I’ll call it Tarrying Thursday. Lame. Well Tarrying is synonymous to Waiting; that’s the best word I can racked my brain as of the moment so bear with me here. Unless you could give me suggestions on how I can call it. Spare me some until next Tuesday. Ha! Ha!

Anyway, I just stumbled upon this new book by Jennifer Armentrout and it really caught my attention.

The Return (Titan #1)

Book 1 in the new adult paranormal TITAN series, spin-off to the best selling COVENANT series.

Seth’s Story.

+++

I’m not pretty sure if you could be excited about this, if you haven’t read the Covenant Series.  At any rate, Jennifer confirmed that this can be a stand-alone series, not really an extension of the Covenant. Still, I suggest that you read the Covenant so you could relate to this giddy feeling in me just for the mention of Seth’s name. Seth’s not really a lovable character, but I have learned to love him eventually and learning that he has his own series sends blissful sparks in me.

Book Cover Reveal: The Blood of Olympus (Final Book: The Heroes of Olympus)

Today I’ve just posted the book review for White Hot Kiss and a post for my first Waiting on Wednesday so I called it a day, but then again, I’ve browsed Goodreads for new releases. I was stunned and couldn’t believe what I’ve seen. I’ve been waiting for the cover of this and really wondering what could it be. I almost squealed in delight when I’ve stumbled upon it. Look!!

The Blood of Olympus (The Heroes of Olympus #5)

Though the Greek and Roman crewmembers of the “Argo II” have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen-all of them, and they’re stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood-the blood of Olympus-in order to wake.
The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it “might” be able to stop a war between the two camps.
The Athena Parthenos will go west; the “Argo II” will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea’s army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over.

Book Cover Reveal: LUX, Opposition

This is just a quick post. I just have to post this since I can’t contain my happiness. I’ve just posted a blog about the books I’m dying to read (Please Click Here: Waiting on Wednesday) ranting that this enthralling book doesn’t have a cover yet. I was really eager to have at least a glimpse of what would it be since the covers from the rest of the books on this series are really gorgeous. Plus I’m pretty sure that Daemon’s striking face will be on there. Look what I’ve found when I was browsing Goodreads..

+++

Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.

She can’t believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.

They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.

War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.

Now you can see them all together.

We last left Katy and Daemon as they just escaped from the research center in Arizona and after they revealed to the world that they are aliens in Las Vegas. Now, they are on the run and looking to not get caught and taken in.

+++

It didn’t disappoint. See, there’s my Daemon. Hah! The cover looks so mysterious. Honestly, I’m so torn about this. I believe this is the series’ finale so I’m excited and also it is heartbreaking knowing that the series would come to an end. The feeling that you would want to read more about the characters and yet you’re also thinking that it would be overkill. I have been feeling that mixed emotions since God knows when, perhaps when I started reading series. Since then, reading helped me move on. Move on to a new series. Haha! I’m really looking forward to reading this. I haven’t blog about this series yet, perhaps I would, either after I’ve read this or when laziness decided to leave me alone. It just sucks when you’re not on a computer and you want to blog about everything and then suddenly switch to blank mode right when you click new post. Talking about bloggers block indeed. So yeah. I would blog about this as soon as my mood permits. 😀
