This is my first Sunday Post for 2015! Yay! Well, our New Year celebration was a blast. Spent it with the whole family again and it was a lot of fun. A lot of firecrackers, confetti, food, laughter and a whole lot of hugs and kisses from a lot of visiting relatives. Reunited with a bunch of childhood friends too since we spent the New Year’s eve at my parents’ place where I grow up. Partied till two in the morning and got up so late the following day. Lol! Also keeping my fingers crossed so I can keep my resolutions this year. How did you celebrate your New Year’s Eve? Was it fun and do you have any New Year’s Resolutions to keep too? I’ve also changed my blog’s header and background. How do you find it? 😀 Oh hey, I’ll keep this short for now since I’m off to buy a new mobile phone. I’m so excited!

I was with the whole family to celebrate Christmas and it was so much fun. We spent Christmas morning with my family and the evening was spent with Hubby’s. We played games, exchanged gifts of course, had beers (Yes. BEERS. I was drunk. Lol) and sing the videoke. If you’re not familiar with videoke, well it’s pretty much the karaoke. Filipinos loves to sing FYI. 😀 I didn’t get the chance to pick up a book this Christmas week so I’m still not done with Imitation and I’m afraid I’ll be able to post my review for Deviation after its released date on the 30th. Oh well. How’s your Christmas celebration? And hey, this is also my chance of greeting you all a Happy New Year! 😀

Still not done with Christmas shopping and it’s only what? Five days before Christmas? Argh. My son is not yet decided for what he wants. Last year I got him those little cars from Hot Wheels because he’s so into cars. I’m afraid he’s going to ask for an actual car this year. He’s only twelve for God’s sake. Lol! I got Cinder, Scarlet and Cress for a friend and I’m pretty sure she’ll love it. She’s been eying it for the longest time now at a local bookstore. I’m just hoping she’s not going to read this any time soon. 😉 Anyway, as you can see I’m still reading A Thousand Pieces of You since I was caught up with A Darker Shade of Magic and still struggling to find time to read. Especially these days. How’s your Christmas shopping doing? Have you listed who’s been naughty and nice? Lol! 😀

The typhoon I was talking about last week, Thank God, didn’t bring as much destruction as expected so that’s a good thing. It only rained for a couple of days and it was gone like it was never there. I believe they’ve listed 19 casualties from the central part of the country and that’s by far less than what the previous typhoons have left. It’s because people were much ready and vigilant this time, I guess. Anyway, I haven’t gone Christmas shopping yet and I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to do it at the last minute since my schedule is STILL quite crazy. Haven’t really thought of what to wrap for my family and friends yet. Argh. I don’t want anything for myself though since having them is enough. Aww. I’m such a cheeseball! 😀 Are you done with yours? Anything you want for yourself? 🙂 My reading progress this week is fairly good. I’ve finished three books and I’m happy about it. Though the other one is a short story. Still. A progress is a progress. Hihi! How’s your week? 😀

This week has been ordinary. Still struggling to have my Me Time aka Reading Time. The breeze has gone cold since Christmas is fast approaching. I’m in a tropical country which usually has a searing hot temperature so the last quarter is my favorite part of the year really. The sun shines beautifully, the sky’s so blue dotted with fluffy clouds, but the breeze is really cold especially in the morning so I’m loving it. Perfect for sitting on a bench at a park with a book in hand. I’m quite worried about the reported typhoon though. I heard from the news that it’s awfully strong and the central part of the country is currently being devastated. There are places that doesn’t have electricity and people are in need of food and safe shelter. The report also stated that the typhoon will be weaker by the time it reaches Manila where I’m from. As of this writing here in Manila, we only have cloudy gray sky and no rain yet. This is a photo I’ve seen from our local news:

Typhoon Hagupit

So scary. I’m really hoping the typhoon won’t stay long enough to wreak our country to ruins like typhoon Yolanda did. Prayers are really needed in times like this so I’m praying for everybody’s safety.

This week has been frustrating. The bank had a system “upgrade” and I’m unable to withdraw money. Money that I’ve worked for. When I asked them when would the system be fixed, they provided an indefinite answer. How can you say that if people need to pay bills and eat? I was so broke, I nearly cried. I can’t believe they decided to “fix” their system in time for the payout and on a Friday knowing they’ll resume operation Monday. Do they expect us to know it via precognition since they didn’t provide a notice? What the fudging hell?? My co-worker even tried to withdraw from an ATM. Unfortunately her account was debited, but no money came out and according to them, they will process it for a reversal within seven business days. Seven business days for God’s sake! I so hate them! How could them? So incompetent and so inconsiderate! Good thing my friend let me borrowed some cash so I can live on up until their system is fixed. Sigh. Sorry. I rarely rant about things in life, but this is way too much and I just need to let this out. Anyway, we were able to get the money Saturday night so I moved on. I just hope this won’t happen again. Ever. Again.

Another slow reading progress this week so I only posted one review and a bunch of memes. I’m pretty happy about it though. I only wish I could have more time lazing around, check awesome blogs (I want to see my friends’ Teasers, WoWs, etc. I haven’t done that in a while, it sucks!), write snail mails to friends, perhaps watch some TV and read tons. I guess I can have a nickname.. Ultimate Energizer Bunny cause I never slow down. I keep going and going and going. Yeah. Yeah. I know you get the point, but I want to stress it more. 😆 Anyway, I rarely logged in to Twitter and I was so happy (That I want to share this with you guys) when I checked my notifications and saw this:

Seriously? She actually read my review or this is something like “Hey assistant, check Twitter for anything about our book. Make sure to reply to keep readers happy.” LOL! 😛 I usually just received notifications that authors “Favorited Your Tweet” and that’s it. She even did this when I posted my Wow and Teaser Tuesday about Snow Like Ashes so I’m so happy (If this is really her).

Is this normal or I’m reacting like a newbie? I can’t help feeling like a kid on Christmas day while opening presents. 😆 Oh wait aside from Sara, I got this from Alexandra for my Suspicion Wow:

Romina Russel, author of The Zodiac tweeted this when I won her book’s giveaway 😀

And this is from Vicki for my WoW feature for Crown of Ice

That’s about it, the rest clicked “Favorite” or “Retweet” and done with it (Oh! That’s effort there). I’m not mad at them or even irritated. I didn’t expect my blog to be noticed since there’s a zillion bloggers worldwide. We all know how busy they are, but a single tweet of appreciation won’t hurt I guess. Especially if the reader exerted effort to spread the word (Even if it’s just from the assistant or secretary. Lol). Again, I’m not even expecting this. I’m just so happy they had time to reply so I felt the need to share it. Have you received something like this from Twitter or any of your social media accounts? If you did, how did you feel? Can you give me their names? Just curious. 😀

I’ve pretty much done a couple of good deeds this past week (halo included). I know that good deeds are not to be counted and talked about, but perhaps doing something like those is not so usual for me (Hahaha! That’s because I am surrounded with inanimate things most of the time really) so I’m quite proud of myself. I didn’t mean that I’m Satan’s little spawn, but close. I’m kidding. Anyway, I’ve helped a lady that was stranded in the middle of the street ’cause the cab she hailed has broken down. It’s very late that night and the street was somehow full of scary shadows. As you know, muggers and the like lurks where you least expect them and they usually pretend to be helpless and harmless. She asked for my help and I was hesitant at first ’cause it could be a trick, but then my gut feeling told me it was not. She was shaking while walking alongside me. She told me she’s scared since she’s not familiar with the place so I dropped her off on a taxi bay and waited for her to take a cab and left. Before she left, she thanked me and even flashed me her sweetest smile so my heart felt an inch bigger. I felt awful that I have thought of her as something bad. Then, eventually felt glad that I was able to helped her.

Other than that, I’ve helped a friend fixed her blog the way she wants it. I know it’s a little thing to even think about, but because I really want to be a help to her. I’ve given her instructions that’s as easy as I could ’cause HTML could be so difficult to explain especially to those people who’s not really familiar. I’ve even provided her screenshots and all those good stuff. I like her and I would really feel so glad if she’ll be able to fix her blog beautifully. I’m looking forward to the day that I’ve got to check her blog after the changes and I’m really hoping she’ll be happy about it.

Well, that’s pretty much it. How was your week? 😀

Goodreads Choice Awards 2014: Best Young Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction Category

I’m currently in a dilemma. They won’t let me vote for multiple books. Just one and you need to move on to the next category. Am I the only one  having this problem or everybody is not as fickle minded as I am? If these are your choices, would you immediately choose one?

I’m staring at it for a good couple of hours now and I can’t still decide which to vote. I initially voted Cress, then cleared it. Voted for Lux and changed my mind again. Oh God! This is as hard as choosing a gown for prom or deciding whether to eat a lot or go on a diet. Perhaps you could help me. Comments and suggestions would be much appreciated. 😀
