Weekly Photo Challenge: Gone, But Not Forgotten

Weekly Photo Challenge is hosted by The Daily Post,
where we publish a new post with a photo interpreting the weekly theme..

Forever a Potterhead

Harry Potter

This week’s theme is:

Gone, but not Forgotten
In today’s challenge, show us what “gone, but not forgotten” means to you.
It could be a photo of a faithful canine friend who’s chasing squirrels in a better place,
a spot in your city, town, or village that reminds you of a relationship now over,
a talisman that reminds you of something that you can never get back,
a photo of you in your smashing 70s silver lamé jumpsuit,
or the crumbs that remain from the delicious cheesecake you baked.

I get a little sentimental when I’m staring at my Harry Potter books. I miss the series, the characters and okay.. the movies. The feeling of missing a best friend who moved in a different neighborhood and a couple of years has passed without even sending you a simple text message. Feels. Yeah, I know I have the books and the series is not gone as in gone and I can just read them whenever I want to, but still. I wish the series has continue or some snippets from their present life after everything perhaps. This would never be forgotten and I swear I’ll be forever a Potterhead. 🙂

“No story lives unless someone wants to listen.
The stories we love best do live in us forever.
So whether you come back by page or by the big screen,
Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”

The Beauty of Books Tag!

Emalie of the Book Gatherer tagged me on this, but this is originally from Books and Palettes.
It sounds fun so I want to try it. To be honest, I don’t usually go out wearing make up because I don’t feel comfortable with it. 😀 I’m really not your makeup kinda girl, but this looks cool though.
I’m feeling extra creative today so I’ve made this button just for this tag. Isn’t it cute? 😀

Here’s the Questions:

1. Eyeliner: Tell us about a book that defines who you are or that means a lot to you personally, and then show us your favorite eyeliner.
Defines who I am? That’s pretty difficult, but a book that means a lot to me would be..

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: This is where Albus Dumbledore died. I cried bucket of tears. It’s just heartbreaking that I had a hard time moving on. I know it’s just a book, but man.. Losing Dumbledore is such a bummer. This means a lot to me because this is also where the realization of all or most of the complications on this series were revealed so yeah, this means a whole lot to me.

Avon Simply Pretty Liquid Eyeliner: This is my favorite liquid eyeliner. I just recently learned how to use an eyeliner and make those cat eyes. I’m a late bloomer, I may say. LOL 😀 Continue reading

I’m sorry, but I have to be brutally honest with this. I hate The Evolution of Mara Dyer.

The Latest Harry Potter Gossip!

J. K Rowling posted an article on Pottermore about the Dumbledore’s Army being reunited at the final of the 2014 Quidditch World Cup. In a freaking 1,500-word short. Cruel. Cruel. Oh. My. God. I’m left wanting for more. The feature is interesting enough for you to be left wondering and really hoping that Rowling will continue their amazing story. This is actually an article written by Rita Skeeter for the Daily Prophet. Knowing Rita, there’s so many intriguing questions and comments that would let you think too. It’s like you’re reading a Hollywood Biz article with all those nasty speculations and annoying rumors, but who knows? Perhaps those are true.

If you do have an account on Pottermore, you can simply click the Daily Prophet link and check the one that’s published the 8th of July or if you don’t, click the link below. Enjoy! 😃

Waiting on Wednesday #7

This week’s feature for WOW is the first book for a new series and it’s a collaboration of two authors. Guess who? Holly Black and Cassandra Clare. How freaking cool is that? I’m so thrilled about the whole idea. Like I’m fangirling when I’ve stumbled upon this.

From NEW YORK TIMES bestselling authors Holly Black and Cassandra Clare comes a riveting new series that defies what you think you know about the world of magic.

From two bestselling superstars, a dazzling and magical middle-grade collaboration centering on the students of the Magisterium, an academy for those with a propensity toward magic. In this first book, a new student comes to the Magisterium against his will — is it because he is destined to be a powerful magician, or is the truth more twisted than that? It’s a journey that will thrill you, surprise you, and make you wonder about the clear-cut distinction usually made between good and evil.

Reunited with My First Love

I am so glad that I get to squeeze my first love on my daily routine though I got Hubby annoyed of me being so consumed about it most of the time. I can’t explain the happiness it brought me when I started reading again. Yeah. Reading is my first love. Deadlines and the rest of school stuff hindered me from reading the stuff that I love back when I was still studying and of course my limited finances to support my hobby. Back then, books cost a fortune especially those hard-bounds and glossy covered books. I just used to borrow books from friends. When I graduated, obviously I have been busy working so I still can’t manage to have spare times for reading.

Harry Potter

Just recently, thank goodness for technology, I managed to download e-books on my phone for free (the best things are free see?) so I can still read while I’m on the go. Of course, I still wanted to have my own mini library in my room where I can stay there forever. Funny as it may seem, but I was able to re-read J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Funny I say because I have read the books so many times and also watched the movies, but I’m still so excited on each and every pages. I still felt sad when Dumbledore died on the Half Blood Prince. Also, I felt so bad when I’ve finished the last book for I can’t get enough of the series. I’m still hoping that Rowling would continue the series though I know that it would be overkill. I so love the series that I am thinking about naming my future son Harry or my future daughter Hermione. Haha!

Pottermore: They’re opening for everyone Ü

After ages of waiting for this day to happen.. It finally arrived. Pottermore was opened to public already! Hooray! I learned it from a Twitter friend who shares the same interest, May Cho. I got so excited that being at work didn’t bother me enough not to register the same day I knew about it. Looked left then right, hoping no one would see me typing an unrelated site at work. Haha! Jaraaaaaannnnnnn..

Before, the sign up link was nowhere to be found, but hey look at that. I followed the instructions to create a profile and little did I knew that the usernames will be provided from the site. I had long thought of the username I wanted to use however I was given the oddest usernames that I would thought of. You will be given 5 usernames to choose from. I chose MistFrog1721 for it was the only one that sounds good to me. The others are just like crazy, I forgot what were those though. There.. registered.

I received this mail confirmation from the email address I registered. My excitement was crashed by this because I need to wait for another email to have full access on the site. Waited.. Waited.. Waited.. but the wait seems ages again so I decided to just check the next day hoping that it would not take long like the website was opened for public use.

I’ve checked early morning the next day and found this email from my box. Finally!  Full access.

This is how it would look like after you logged in on the site. You will be literally in the story itself since the site was based to the actual books. As shown on the homepage, you will be able to relive the adventure for it will let you explore all chapters from each book. Each chapter would have an interesting fact from the author, J. K. Rowling that was never been heard or published before. First hand information at it’s best. See the yellow scribble at the homepage? That’s J. K. Rowling’s signature. Cool ayt? 🙂

I was given my initial funds to shop at Diagon Alley for the things that I needed to get started, I was given a list by the way. See, I’m 500 Galleons richer. Hehe! I really enjoyed shopping for books and magical stuff. First years are permitted to bring along  a pet that you could also buy at Diagon Alley. I was torn between an owl and a cat because Harry have an owl named Hedwig for a pet. I ended up buying a Siamese Cat because I didn’t like the colors of the available owls at Eeylops Owl Emporium. By the way, you will have 3 options for a pet, either an owl, a cat or a toad. Lame part was, there was no option to name your pet.

Next stop was fetching your wand at Ollivanders, this is the most exciting part of shopping for me. Hehe!

Here’s my wand. Ash with Unicorn Core, Nine and Three Quarter Inches 🙂

I’m all set so off to the train station we went. The trip on the Hogwarts Express was fun too, collecting chocolate frog cards and magical books 🙂

This was the most exciting part of the first chapter. Being sorted by the Sorting Hat to a certain house. There were questions that were given to gauge an applicant’s personality as to which house you’ll belong. I was so excited about answering the questions and was nervous about the house I’ll be in.

So there.. I was placed in HufflePuff. Mixed emotions for me, I was really thinking that I would be better off to Gryffindor because of Harry of course. I was reading about my house’s details and I’m pretty sure that I’ll learned to love it on the long run. I’m learning to cast spells and to brew potions already which is the fun part 🙂

This is my current profile 🙂

I would not give specific details on how the website goes anymore for it will be just a spoiler to those who are planning to register. I want them to experience it for themselves of course. The only thing that’s so disappointing about the site is that the only available book to explore is the first book: The Philosopher’s Stone. I bet that it will take ages again for the second book to be available.. but I’m still hoping it wont.
