The Mortal Instruments as a TV Series?

I haven’t been paying much attention to the TV/Movie world since I’m caught up with a lot of work, plus squeezing time to read and a whole lot more so I’m quite surprised when I read an article about this. I believe it was announced a month ago that the book series won’t be on the big screen anymore after City of Bones being a blockbuster. They will continue it as a TV series instead. They will start the production next year and from what I’ve read, recasting is possible.

“It actually makes sense to do (the novels) as a TV series. There was so much from the book that we had to leave out of the Mortal Instruments film. In the series we’ll be able to go deeper and explore this world in greater detail and depth.”
— Martin Moszkowicz, Head of Constantin

I’m really torn. About the book being on a TV series and for the possible recasting. I’m excited about it since I miss the book and it really broke my heart when the series finally ended, but I’m worried how they will pull it off. There could be two aftereffects out of this. Continue reading

I’m not pretty sure how to begin with this as I’m so overwhelmed about the idea of having a book review about City of Heavenly Fire. That familiar mixed emotions again. Sure, I’m so familiar with it, but still, heartbreaking. Heartbreaking that this would be the last book. Though I know there would be another series that Clare is doing and it’s like an extension of this; I can’t help to be woeful. On the other hand, I’m so happy that I’ve got to read the last installment of this series. Finally. As in, at last. I’m being bipolar again, I guess. Yeah. I know. Can’t help it.

I love how the book is written. It is not written as I expected for it is more fascinating. It feels like that you’ve been taken away to a dimension that’s so real. So real I forgot that it’s from a book. I love the Shadowhunter world. Every little details of it; that I want to have runes tattooed on me too. This series will always be an obsession to me. A favorite. I adore how Clare have written everything because the series is beyond amazing. Yeah, I have my own share of disappointments from the previous books, but this book have rubbed them out.

At long last. Finally. Finalmente. Enfin. It is here. Ha! Ha! I’ve waited so long for this. So long that I nearly fainted when I got my hands on the book. Yeah. I’ve gone loony for this is my favorite series after Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. I can’t contain my happiness. Have I mentioned that I am super happy? Ha! Ha! This is madness at its finest! I think I’m already on the 8th chapter and I’m really loving every bit of it. In fact, I’ve never had an eight hours sleep from the day I started reading this and that’s how thrilled I am apparently. 😊

Waiting on Wednesday

I have been reading since God knows when. I practically started reading fairy tales like most kids do, but I doubt these days, say thank you for technology, kids prefer computer games rather than reading a book in a corner. Any books that you could think of, from Moby Dick, Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham to the most latest children and young adult books at this time. I am no expert on books though, I just love to read. I usually prefer fantasy/fiction with a little bit of love angles as genre. I’ve never outgrown the “and they live happily ever after..” theme of Disney. That’s mainly the reason I’m into those. No offense to the fans of the Twilight series, but I can’t dig what’s so special about it. I can’t bring myself to read it especially when I’ve watched the movies. Perhaps I have read books way more interesting and lovable compared to it. I’m thinking of reading Game of Thrones though, by friends’ reviews. I’m not really into those books that so famous it looses its swag. I just don’t jump into bandwagons, I’m kind of adventurous when it comes to reading. I’m usually updated to new releases, thank heavens to Goodreads. 🙂

Speaking of Goodreads, I’m always checking it for the publishing dates of the books I am dying to read. Here are the list of the books I would trade anything to be published as soon as possible.

Let me start of by my recent favorite: The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. According to Goodreads, City of Heavenly Fire, the 6th and final book’s publishing date would be on the 27th of May, 2014 so this would probably be an early birthday present for me. Exciting cover photo too. I highly recommend this series for those book lovers out there. Definitely a must read series. It wouldn’t be my favorite for no reason. I am also thinking of reading its extended series The Bane Chronicles, but I haven’t started it yet, I am caught up with an awesome list of books to read. I just wish I wouldn’t regret setting it aside for a while.
